Bio
I'm a happy 21 year old geek, currently studying History at Caius college, Cambridge. This means that most of my life during term time involves reading, making spider diagrams, writing essays, shopping for biscuits (amongst other essentials) and dining alongside similarly busy students. As you might guess from this bit of my life, I also enjoy blogging and other various bits of online frivolity. Other important parts of my life involve going for walks as an acceptable form of exercise, gathering with friends to enjoy the delights of Camden's mango beer and such televisual wonders as Doctor Who and other such programmes. I'm also a member of the enigmatic Babble, over-use commas, and could swim 800m before they gave me a certificate for it.

Politics (in 121 words)
For anyone remotely interested, I used to describe my politics on this page as 'social democrat New Labourish' and would still do so, even if New Labour is so terribly out of fashion. I'm a social liberal: I support multiculturalism, sexual rights, the right to dye your hair a crazy colour and all that, and social conservatives confuse and scare me. I don't want to overthrow capitalism in an angry revolution, have economically protectionist governments or work on a collective farm, but having said that I do believe in a strong role for a socially just and redistributive state, providing or commissioning services such as health, education and the Jubilee line southbound. Libertarians should be nationalised. There you go, rant over!
