A grill is not an oven! You (well, not you, maybe) can cook cheese on toast and fishfingers in a grill. You can cook slow-cooked pork in an oven; you can cook merange and sponge cake in an oven; you can cook, if this has to appeal to you, pie in an oven.

And you can cook soup on a hob.
